Which fee tier applies?

Every tooth is different. After an assessment and X-ray, your dentist will confirm the most appropriate approach and exact fee.

A straightforward extraction for a wisdom tooth that has fully erupted. Consultation and imaging are charged only when required.


Consultation: $50. OPG X-ray: $90, only when required. CHAS subsidies may apply. A recent clinically suitable X-ray may avoid repeat imaging.

The exact tier is confirmed after your dentist examines the tooth and reviews suitable imaging. Additional imaging or care, if clinically required, will be explained and quoted before treatment.

What happens from assessment to recovery

MediSave can be used only when removal is assessed as a surgical procedure. The claim remains subject to current CPF rules, the applicable withdrawal limit and available balance.

Will wisdom tooth removal hurt?

What to expect during and after treatment

We use local anaesthetic to numb the treatment area. You may feel pressure or movement, but you should tell your dentist if you feel pain so the area can be checked before treatment continues.

Temporary swelling and discomfort are common after removal, especially for surgical cases. You will receive prescribed medicines where appropriate, written aftercare advice and a clear route to contact the clinic if recovery is not progressing as expected.

Treatment at Figs Dental is carried out under local anaesthetic; IV sedation is not offered at the clinic.

Wisdom tooth removal FAQs

No. MediSave applies to eligible surgical procedures. A non-surgical extraction is not MediSave claimable. Your dentist will assess the tooth and explain whether a simple extraction or surgery applies.

Eligible surgical cases may be fully paid from MediSave when the applicable withdrawal limit, claim approval and available balance cover the bill. We will explain the expected fee and claim before treatment.

You may be able to use an approved family member’s MediSave. Our team will explain the current requirements and documents needed for your situation.

The listed surgical fee includes the consultation, required standard X-ray, prescribed medicines, stitch removal and post-surgery reviews. If additional imaging or care is clinically required, we will explain and quote it before treatment.

The $250 is the non-surgical extraction fee. A $50 consultation and $90 panoramic OPG X-ray are charged separately only when those services are required. Existing patients, or patients with a recent clinically suitable X-ray from another clinic, may not require repeat imaging. Your dentist will confirm whether the available X-ray is adequate. For surgical cases, the consultation and required standard X-ray are included in the published surgical fee.

It may be possible to remove two teeth on the same side, teeth on both sides or all four wisdom teeth in one visit. The most appropriate plan depends on the position of the teeth, the type of removal required, your medical history and the recovery you are comfortable with. Your dentist will review the X-rays and discuss the options with you.

Risks vary with the tooth position and procedure. They can include bleeding, infection, dry socket, injury to nearby teeth and altered sensation from nerve irritation. Your dentist will review your X-ray and explain the risks relevant to your case before treatment.

Recovery varies with the tooth position, procedure and individual. Swelling commonly becomes more noticeable over the first few days before improving. You will receive personalised aftercare instructions and advice on when to contact the clinic.

The appropriate period depends on the procedure and your individual recovery needs. Your dentist will advise you after assessing and treating your case.
